In Cabin in the woods, one of the most controversial theme
is Teen Punishment. The ideology of teen punishment is portrayed in various
ways throughout the film. One way teen punishment is showing is through the
scene of Jules and Curt being outside in the forest and they are attempting to
have sex when one of the Buckeneers appears and ends up killing Jules. Another way
that teen punishment is shown through the film is the scene where Marty is
apparently killed for being a stoner head and constantly being high. The ideology
of teen punishment is the fact that because they are basically participating in
adult activities, they are trying to act older than their actual age and that
infact if they did not participate in these activities that initially they might
have been spared. Another theme this is portrayed in the film is the use of
Phallic and Yonic imagery.
